Ingredients
1tspBlack Tea Leavesadjust to your preference
1tspSugaror your preferred sweetener (adjust to taste)
1/8tspChai Masala
1tspGingergrated or thinly sliced
2tbspMilk
Method
Add water, black tea, chai masala, ginger, and any other spices to a small pot.
Bring the mixture to a boil.
Let it boil for about a minute so the water becomes infused with the spices.
Add milk.
Add milk gradually and judge by the color of the tea rather than measuring. Stronger tea (from more leaves or longer boiling) may need more milk to balance it. The type of dairy also matters- whole milk, skim milk, and half-and-half will all affect how much you need. Add until the chai reaches a warm caramel-brown color and tastes right to you.
Simmer briefly until the tea reaches the color and strength you prefer.
